Investors pulled a net $484.9 million from US spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds on Wednesday, October 7, according to Farside Investors data. It was the largest one-day outflow since June 25, when $691.7 million left the funds, crypto.news reported.

The selling was broad. BlackRock's IBIT lost $207.7 million, about 43% of the total. Fidelity's FBTC lost $105.1 million, ARK 21Shares' ARKB $101.7 million, Grayscale's GBTC $39.3 million and Bitwise's BITB $27.6 million. No fund recorded an inflow.

One day undid the month. The funds had gathered $321.6 million over the first four trading days of October, including $118.8 million on Tuesday. They are now about $163 million in the red for the month.

Ether funds fared no better. They lost $160.9 million on Wednesday, most of it from BlackRock's ETHA. It was their seventh consecutive session of outflows, which add up to about $569 million, Farside's figures show.

The withdrawals came on a day bitcoin closed near $83,300, down from about $85,500 on Tuesday, according to CoinGecko figures cited by crypto.news. It was near $82,700 early Thursday, the same report said.

What to watch: Bitfinex analysts said fresh spot demand is needed for bitcoin to revisit $90,000, crypto.news reported. Farside had not yet posted Thursday's flows when this story was published.
