Strive, the company Vivek Ramaswamy founded, buys 3,311 bitcoin for about $280 million, more than 13 times Strategy's latest purchase

Strive, the company founded by Vivek Ramaswamy, added 3,311 bitcoin to its holdings last week, its biggest increase since January. The company said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday that it bought the coins between October 5 and October 9 at an average of about $84,500 each, including fees and expenses. That works out to about $280 million.

Strive held 32,773 bitcoin as of October 9, up from 29,462 a week earlier. That ranks it fifth among public companies, behind Strategy with 848,250, Metaplanet with 44,000, Twenty One with 43,514 and MARA with 35,577, according to Bitcoin Treasuries data cited by The Block. Chief executive Matt Cole has said he wants Strive to end 2026 in second place, The Block reported. It trails Metaplanet by 11,227 bitcoin.

The purchase dwarfs the one Strategy disclosed the week before. Strategy bought 250 bitcoin, so Strive's haul was more than 13 times as large, a comparison Strategy's executive chairman, Michael Saylor, made himself on X, The Block reported.

The filing does not say how the purchase was paid for. It shows Strive's Class A shares outstanding rose by about 9.5 million over the week and its SATA preferred shares by 532,094, while cash rose to $310.3 million from $284.7 million. SATA is a preferred stock modeled on Strategy's STRC that pays a 13% annualized dividend, The Block reported.

The last time Strive's holdings grew by more was in January, when it took on about 5,048 bitcoin through its all-stock merger with Semler Scientific.
