Tether says 15 mining firms, including Bitmain, MicroBT and Foundry, will build integrations for its open-source mining kit

Tether has signed up 15 bitcoin mining companies to build on its open-source mining software. The stablecoin issuer said on Saturday, October 24, timed to the Plan B Forum in Lugano, that mining operators, ASIC manufacturers and pools have committed to build and maintain integrations with its Mining Development Kit, or MDK, Blockchain Reporter reported.
The 15 are ACME Swisstech, Bitdeer, Bitmain, Canaan, Elektron Energy, EMCD, F2Pool, Foundry Digital, Heatbit, Luxor Technology, MicroBT, OCEAN, Block's Proto, SpiderPool and Stratum V2. AntPool, ViaBTC and Braiins were not among them.
Each company will build an "MDK Worker" that connects its hardware, pool or system to the kit, so software built on MDK can read and run different mining systems through one interface. Tether says companies keep control of their systems. "We are entering a period where software will increasingly operate physical infrastructure, not simply report on it," Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said.
The commitments are not yet shipped integrations, and no company timelines were given. MDK is at version 0.11; what to watch is the stable 1.0 release Tether is targeting by the end of 2026.
