What is Bubblemaps and what does it show?

Bubblemaps is an onchain analytics tool that draws a token's top holders as bubbles and links them by transfers, helping users spot linked wallets and insiders.

Bubblemaps is a crypto analytics platform that shows who holds a token as a map of bubbles. Bigger bubbles hold more of the supply, and lines show where tokens or funds have moved between holders. The aim is to make holder data readable without digging through raw transactions on a blockchain explorer.

What does Bubblemaps show?

According to the project's documentation, a map shows a token's current top holders, the top 250 by default. Each bubble is one wallet, and its size reflects how much of the token it holds. A link means an onchain transfer happened between two of those holders, and it can involve any token, sometimes across chains.

Groups of linked bubbles form clusters. Exchanges and smart contracts are hidden by default so they do not crowd the picture. The documentation says maps refresh within six hours, though new tokens can lag. Supported chains listed in the wiki include Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, Base, Arbitrum, Polygon, Avalanche, Tron and Sonic.

What does Bubblemaps do for traders and researchers?

It helps answer one question: is this token's supply spread out, or held by a small, connected group? A single large cluster can suggest that one team or insider controls many wallets, a pattern that can come before a rug pull.

Bubblemaps V2 added features to dig further. Magic Nodes reveal addresses that are not holders but link holders, such as a wallet that paid gas for several of them. Time Travel shows a token's distribution at past dates, including launch. KuCoin's guide notes that the team has published investigations using these maps, for example one showing a large share of the LIBRA token's supply in a single cluster.

A link is a reason to look closer, not proof. The wiki frames the key question as why funds moved, and it says its 0 to 100 score only counts the clusters it detects. Combine it with the steps in how to research a crypto project.

What is Bubblemaps BMT?

BMT is Bubblemaps' token. It exists on Solana and BNB Chain, with a maximum supply of 1 billion. The tokenomics page lists the largest allocations as airdrops at 22.17%, ecosystem at 21.3% and investors at 19.35%, with full unlock four years after listing. A Binance Wallet token offering took place on March 11, 2025.

Its main use is the Intel Desk, a crowdsourced investigation board. Holders deposit BMT into a voting pool and allocate it to cases they want investigated, and submitting a case requires at least 100 BMT. Withdrawing can carry a fee that starts at 20% and falls over 10 days. The core map is free, while holders get extras such as profit and loss figures, cross-chain analytics and maps of the top 1,000 holders, as of October 2026. Before trading any token, read about token unlocks and remember that analytics tokens carry the same risks as other crypto.
