What is Robinhood Chain?
Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum layer 2 built on Arbitrum that launched its public mainnet on July 1, 2026. It uses ETH for gas and hosts Stock Tokens.
Robinhood Chain is a permissionless, Ethereum-compatible layer 2 blockchain run on the Arbitrum platform. Robinhood announced its public mainnet on July 1, 2026, at an event in London, describing it as built for real-world assets. Anyone can use it, build apps on it or deploy smart contracts, and it runs separately from the regular Robinhood brokerage app.
How does Robinhood Chain work?
Robinhood Chain is a dedicated Arbitrum chain that settles to Ethereum, so it inherits much of Ethereum's tooling. It is fully compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine, meaning apps and wallets built for Ethereum can work with it. Transaction fees are paid in ETH, just as on Ethereum. The chain is offered through Robinhood Digital Assets, LLC.
According to the ArbitrumDAO factsheet, the chain uses configurable block times and preconfirmations for low latency. Launch partners include Uniswap for trading, and integrations with Alchemy, BitGo and Chainlink. More on the underlying technology is in what is Arbitrum.
What are Robinhood Chain tokenized stocks?
Robinhood's Stock Tokens on the chain are tokenized debt securities issued by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited. They track the economic value of an underlying share but give no legal or ownership rights in that share or its company. Eligible users trade them around the clock through Robinhood Wallet and decentralized exchanges, and can use them in lending pools.
As of October 2026, Stock Tokens are available in more than 120 countries, but they are not registered under US securities laws and may not be offered to US persons. Offers are also restricted in places including Canada, the UK and Switzerland. An earlier version, now called Classic Stock Tokens, launched on Arbitrum One in June 2025 and remains in the Robinhood Europe app. The general idea is explained in what are tokenized stocks.
The launch also included Robinhood Earn, which lets eligible US users lend the USDG stablecoin through the Morpho protocol from a self-custody wallet. Robinhood notes that onchain lending carries risk, including loss of principal.
How do you get Ethereum on Robinhood Chain?
Robinhood's support page does not describe buying ETH directly on the chain. Instead, you bring ETH or supported tokens over from Ethereum using the canonical Arbitrum bridge or partner bridges. Bridges are explained in what is a crypto bridge.
Robinhood Wallet, a self-custody wallet, supports Robinhood Chain without setup and also lets you buy crypto with a card through an on-ramp provider. Any other EVM wallet can connect by adding the network by hand with chain ID 4663. Robinhood Wallet is separate from a Robinhood Crypto account, and crypto held in it is not FDIC insured or SIPC protected.
