What is Rabby Wallet and what is it used for?
Rabby Wallet is a self-custody wallet for Ethereum and EVM networks, launched by the DeBank team, that previews a transaction's result before you sign.
Rabby Wallet is a self-custody crypto wallet built for people who use DeFi apps on Ethereum and other EVM networks. DeBank, a company first known for tracking DeFi portfolios, launched it as a browser extension in July 2021. Like other self-custody wallets, it stores your keys on your own device rather than with a company, which our guide to custodial vs non-custodial wallets explains.
What is Rabby Wallet used for?
People use Rabby to hold tokens and NFTs, connect to decentralized apps, sign transactions, and swap or bridge tokens. Its main selling point is security checks before signing. Rabby simulates a transaction and shows the expected balance changes, and it can flag suspicious approvals, risky contracts or high price impact. These are warnings, not hard blocks, so a user can still choose to proceed.
Rabby also lets you review and revoke token approvals you gave earlier, which limits what a dapp can still move from your wallet. Built-in swaps and bridging carry a 0.25% fee, according to CryptoSlate's October 2026 review, on top of network fees. Downloading the wallet is free.
What network is Rabby Wallet on?
Rabby is not tied to one network. It supports Ethereum and other EVM chains, including BNB Smart Chain, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, Polygon and Avalanche, and you can add custom EVM networks with fewer features. It does not support non-EVM chains such as native Bitcoin, Solana or Tron. When you connect to a dapp, Rabby selects the network the app needs, a feature DeBank highlighted at launch as automatic chain switching.
What is Rabby Desktop?
Searches for Rabby Desktop usually mean Rabby's desktop downloads for macOS and Windows. Besides those, Rabby offers the browser extension and mobile apps for iOS and Android. The extension works in Chrome, Brave and Edge. Its source code is published on GitHub under the RabbyHub organization.
Look-alike download pages are a common risk for popular wallets. The project's GitHub page lists rabby.io as the official site, and our guide on spotting a fake crypto wallet app explains what to check.
How does Rabby compare with MetaMask?
Both are self-custody wallets that work with EVM dapps, and Rabby's GitHub page suggests dapps show separate MetaMask and Rabby connect buttons. The differences are in focus. Rabby centers on pre-signing risk checks and automatic network selection for EVM chains. MetaMask, covered in what MetaMask is, now gives each account an EVM, a Solana and a Bitcoin address, so it reaches beyond EVM chains. SlowMist gave Rabby's extension a passing audit in 2025, while Least Authority's 2025 reports left some moderate-severity findings unresolved, and a Rabby swap contract was exploited for about $200,000 in October 2022, CryptoSlate reports.
