Can you pay with crypto on Amazon?
You cannot pay with crypto directly on Amazon, but some people buy Amazon gift cards with bitcoin through third-party sellers or use a crypto card.
No, you cannot pay with crypto directly on Amazon, as of October 2026. Amazon Pay's help page, for example, lists credit and debit cards and Amazon store cards as accepted methods, with no mention of crypto. There are indirect routes, but in each one the crypto is turned into dollars or a gift card balance before Amazon is paid.
Can you pay with bitcoin on Amazon?
Not at checkout. Amazon does not take bitcoin or any other coin as a payment option. The two indirect routes people use are buying an Amazon gift card with bitcoin from a third party, or paying with a crypto card. For a wider view of where coins are accepted directly, see our guide on where you can spend crypto.
Can you buy Amazon gift cards with crypto?
Yes, through third-party sellers. Bitrefill, for example, lets you pick a gift card amount, pay from your crypto wallet to the address shown, and then receive an Amazon code. You redeem it by logging in to Amazon, choosing to apply a gift card, and entering the code. Bitrefill notes two catches: the Amazon account that redeems the code must also have a second payment method on file, such as a card or bank account, and using a code outside the region it was issued for may break Amazon's terms. Our guide on how crypto gift cards work explains how these codes are bought and redeemed.
Can you pay with crypto using a card?
A crypto card connects your crypto balance to a normal card network. When you pay, the card provider sells the crypto or uses a fiat balance and pays the merchant in regular currency, so Amazon sees a card payment. Amazon Pay accepts Visa and Mastercard credit cards, among others. Some providers limit where crypto-funded spending works. Uphold, for instance, declines crypto-funded card-present purchases at New York merchants, though online purchases are allowed. Our guide on how crypto cards work covers the details.
Is it a scam if someone asks you to pay with Amazon gift cards?
Yes. Scammers often pose as the IRS, tech support or a relative in trouble and ask for gift card numbers, because the money is hard to recover. The FTC says anyone who demands payment by gift card is a scammer. If this happens, contact the card issuer right away and report it to the FTC. Our guide on common crypto scams lists other warning signs.
