Can you sell crypto on MetaMask?
Yes, you can sell crypto on MetaMask in supported regions. It compares quotes from partners such as Transak and MoonPay, who pay out to a bank or card.
Yes, you can sell crypto on MetaMask, though MetaMask itself does not buy your coins. Its Sell feature gathers quotes from partner companies, and the one you pick receives your crypto and sends cash to your bank account or another payout method. MetaMask's support pages say the feature covers the US, the UK and parts of Europe as of October 2026. How the wallet works in general is explained in what is MetaMask.
How do you sell crypto on MetaMask?
The flow is similar in the mobile app and the browser extension, where Sell sits under Buy & Sell or Move crypto and opens MetaMask's web app:
- Choose the region where your bank account is registered. US users also pick a state.
- Enter the amount and select a payout destination.
- Compare the real-time quotes and pick one.
- Finish sign-up on the provider's site. New users may need to complete identity checks, known as KYC, and link a bank account.
- Return to MetaMask and confirm the transaction that sends your crypto to the provider.
MetaMask names ETH, BTC and stablecoins such as mUSD as sellable, but supported tokens and networks vary by country. Its support guide notes that ETH sales happen on Ethereum mainnet.
Can you use MetaMask to sell to a bank?
Yes. MetaMask says the value of the sale is deposited into the bank account you choose on the provider's site. Its November 2025 guide also lists debit cards, credit cards and PayPal as payout options where available.
Timing has two parts. First the blockchain transaction has to go through, then the provider sells at the quoted rate and sends the money. MetaMask says US bank transfers may take one to three business days. As an example of a provider's own timing, MoonPay lists 3 to 5 working days to a US bank and within 30 minutes to an eligible fast-funds card.
If an order shows Complete but no money has arrived after a few days, MetaMask says to contact the provider, since it does not execute the order itself.
What are MetaMask sell fees?
There are three layers:
- MetaMask's fee. It says it receives 1% from providers on each transaction.
- The provider's fee. Built into the quote, which differs between providers.
- Gas. The network fee for sending your coins, paid from your ETH balance. See what are gas fees.
What if your region isn't supported?
MetaMask says its partners cannot operate in every jurisdiction. If the Sell option is not available where you live, the alternative is sending the tokens to an exchange that supports the same network and selling there, keeping some ETH aside for gas.
