Yes, you can transfer crypto from Coinbase to Robinhood, and from Robinhood to Coinbase. Neither platform has a direct link to the other, so the move is an ordinary blockchain transfer: you copy a deposit address on one platform and send to it from the other. The details below come from both companies' US help pages as of October 2026. Comparing the two platforms is a different question, covered in Coinbase vs Robinhood.

How do you transfer crypto from Coinbase to Robinhood?

  1. Get a Robinhood deposit address. Search for the coin in Robinhood, choose Deposit or Receive, and copy the address. Robinhood says to use a freshly generated address rather than an old one.
  2. Start a send on Coinbase. On the website, choose Send crypto, pick the asset and amount, select the network and paste the address. In the app, the send starts from Pay.
  3. Match the network. Coinbase preselects a default network and warns that funds sent on the wrong one will be lost. Robinhood says each asset can only arrive on its own blockchain.
  4. Add any memo or tag. Robinhood lists XRP, HBAR, ATOM and XLM among assets that may need one.
  5. Review and confirm. Coinbase may ask for two-step verification on larger sends.

Coinbase charges a network fee for on-chain sends. Both companies say a confirmed transfer cannot be reversed.

How does a Robinhood crypto deposit work?

Robinhood requires identity verification before transfers, which it says can take up to five business days. It credits a deposit after a set number of network confirmations. It lists about 1 hour for bitcoin, about 5 minutes for ether and most ERC-20 tokens, and well under a second for Solana. A short security review follows. Robinhood says deposits themselves are unlimited.

Deposit addresses for BTC, BCH, DOGE and LTC change with each deposit, while ETH addresses stay the same. Robinhood does not accept NFTs or unsupported coins, which may be lost if sent.

Can you transfer crypto from Robinhood to Coinbase?

Yes. Get the receive address from Coinbase, then open the coin in Robinhood, choose Send, paste the address and enter the amount. Robinhood adds no fee of its own beyond the network fee. Its withdrawal limits depend on verification level and account history, and crypto bought with bank funds that have not cleared may not be sendable yet.

Robinhood limits bitcoin withdrawals to addresses starting with 1, 3 or bc1q, and does not support Taproot or Lightning addresses. If address allowlisting is on, a new address takes 48 hours to activate.

What can go wrong with a Robinhood crypto transfer?

The usual problems are a mismatched network, a missing memo and an unsupported asset. A careful approach is to send a small test first, as explained in how to move crypto to a cold wallet. If funds go astray, see what happens if you send crypto to the wrong address.

Robinhood gives transferred-in crypto a $0 cost basis by default until you enter the original cost. Records matter because selling can be taxable, as covered in how crypto is taxed in the US.
