How do you buy Sui crypto?

To buy Sui crypto you buy SUI on a platform that lists it, such as Coinbase or Robinhood, or inside a Sui wallet like Slush, using the Sui network.

To buy Sui crypto, you buy SUI through an exchange or broker app that lists it, or through a wallet that connects to purchase partners. What the network is and how it works is covered in what Sui is.

How do you buy SUI on Coinbase?

Coinbase's guide for US buyers sets out these steps:

  1. Sign up in the app and verify your account with a valid ID, and possibly proof of address.
  2. Add a bank account, debit card or wire transfer.
  3. Open Buy & Sell, tap Buy and search for SUI.
  4. Enter an amount, with a minimum of about $1.
  5. Select Review order and tap Buy now.

Coinbase says credit cards cannot be used to buy SUI. US customers can pay with PayPal instead. The fee depends on location, payment method, order size and market conditions, and shows on the preview screen before you confirm.

Robinhood's availability page also lists SUI as tradable in its app and on the web, with no state restriction shown, as of October 2026.

What is the Sui coin, and which network do you use?

SUI is the native coin of the Sui blockchain. It pays transaction fees, which Sui calls gas, so a wallet needs a little SUI even to move other tokens such as stablecoins. A Sui address is a long string that starts with 0x.

When you withdraw from an exchange, the Sui project says to send SUI to your Sui address with the network set to Sui, and to try a small test amount first. Other networks use addresses that look similar, so the network setting matters more than the look of the address. Our guide to sending and receiving crypto covers the general checks.

How do you buy SUI in a Sui wallet?

Sui's own wallet guide names Slush, built by Mysten Labs, which comes as a browser extension, a phone app and a web app. Mysten Labs says Slush replaced Sui Wallet on April 24, 2025, through a normal update, with accounts, seed phrases and addresses unchanged.

Sui lists three ways to get assets into a wallet like Slush: withdraw from an exchange, buy or swap inside the wallet, or claim assets someone sends through a Slush link. A Slush wallet can be secured with a recovery phrase or a social login called zkLogin, and Sui notes that losing that login means losing the wallet. The difference this makes is explained in custodial vs non-custodial wallets.

How do you avoid fake Sui wallets?

Sui says fake wallet extensions are the most common way people lose funds on any network. It advises checking that the publisher is Mysten Labs, downloading only through slush.app or sui.io, and typing those addresses yourself instead of clicking ads or social posts. No real support team will ask for your recovery phrase. Signs of a fake app are covered in how to spot a fake crypto wallet app.

Crypto prices are volatile, and platform listings and wallet features change often.
