Yes, a Fidelity crypto transfer can move coins into Fidelity and back out again. Transfers run through a Fidelity Crypto account, which is held by Fidelity Digital Assets, a national trust bank, rather than through a regular brokerage account. The rules below are from Fidelity's help pages as of October 2026. For trading fees and account basics, see can you buy crypto on Schwab or Fidelity.

Can you send bitcoin to Fidelity?

Yes. Fidelity accepts these assets, each on one network only:

  • BTC on the Bitcoin network
  • ETH and FIDD on Ethereum mainnet
  • SOL on Solana
  • LTC on Litecoin

Availability depends on your state. Layer 2 versions and other networks are not listed, and Fidelity warns that the wrong asset or network can mean losing the coins. It also says deposits linked to privacy tools such as mixers can be treated as unsupported, which can lead to delays or account restrictions.

How does a Fidelity crypto transfer in work?

You get a deposit address for the asset in your Fidelity Crypto account, then send from the outside wallet or exchange. Fidelity suggests a test of about $1 first for any new address. It has no deposit fee or deposit limit, and only SOL has a minimum, 0.0003 SOL.

Deposits are credited after several network confirmations and a security review. Fidelity says bitcoin and litecoin usually take under an hour and ether under 10 minutes.

Cost basis does not carry over. Fidelity asks you to enter the price, date and time you originally bought each lot, in batches of up to 200 lots. What is crypto cost basis explains why this matters at tax time.

How do you transfer crypto out of Fidelity?

You add a withdrawal address, which takes 2 to 3 business days to activate. As of October 2026 the standard limit is $2,000 of crypto a day across your accounts, and an advanced limit of $25,000 a day can be enabled, with an authenticator app needed for larger amounts.

The network fee is taken from the amount sent. Fidelity says this effectively sells some crypto, and those sales appear on Form 1099-DA. Lots leave on a first in, first out basis, and leftover dust smaller than the fee cannot be withdrawn. Transfers cannot be cancelled once submitted, a point covered in how to send and receive crypto.

Is Fidelity Crypto a wallet?

Not a self-custody one. Fidelity holds the keys, which makes it a custodial wallet. Fidelity also notes that its transfer guidance does not apply to spot crypto ETFs, which are fund shares and cannot receive coins. A Fidelity Crypto IRA is ineligible for crypto transfers in either direction.

Rules differ by country and change often. Check the tax authority or a qualified professional for your own situation.
