Why is my crypto deposit not showing up?

A crypto deposit not showing is usually still confirming, or it was sent on the wrong network, without a memo, below a minimum or as an unsupported token.

When a crypto deposit is not showing up, the most common reason is timing. The receiving exchange will not credit funds until the transaction has enough confirmations. If the transaction is fully confirmed and still missing, something about how it was sent likely does not match what the platform supports.

Why is my crypto deposit not showing up?

Kraken's help center lists the usual causes as of October 2026:

  • Not enough confirmations yet.
  • Wrong network or token standard for that asset.
  • Below the minimum deposit amount.
  • Missing memo or destination tag for coins such as XRP and XLM.
  • Expired or wrong address, including an address for a different coin.
  • Network maintenance.
  • Privacy features such as CoinJoin, which Kraken does not credit.

Crypto.com adds that in some countries, such as the UK and Singapore, a deposit can stay pending until you submit Travel Rule details about the sender. If a coin needs a tag, see what is a destination tag.

How do you check a missing deposit?

  1. Get the transaction hash from the platform or wallet that sent the funds.
  2. Look it up in a block explorer for that network. See how to use a blockchain explorer.
  3. If it failed or is still pending, the funds have not arrived and the sender's side needs to resolve it.
  4. If it succeeded, compare the receiving address, network and any memo against the deposit details the platform gave you.
  5. Contact the receiving platform with the hash if everything matches.

If funds sent to a self-custody wallet seem missing instead, the cause may be a hidden token, covered in why your crypto is not showing in your wallet.

What if you sent a crypto deposit on the wrong network?

A token like ETH or USDC can exist on several networks that share the same address format, so a transfer can succeed onchain but land where the exchange is not watching.

Coinbase says it cannot reject unsupported deposits and generally will not credit them, though some assets can be recovered to a self-custody wallet through its recovery service, and some cannot. It has also automatically credited certain past deposits once it began supporting that network, such as ETH or USDC sent on Polygon. Crypto.com says it may manually recover unsupported tokens or missing memos, with no guarantee and a fee, but cannot recover funds sent to an address it does not manage. Related cases are covered in what happens if you send crypto to the wrong address.

Why is my Coinbase or Ethereum deposit not showing up?

On Coinbase and other exchanges, an Ethereum deposit that is confirmed but missing usually comes down to the network or the token. It may have been sent on a layer 2 or sidechain rather than the network selected, or it may be a token the exchange does not list. Check the exact network and token contract on the explorer, then give support the transaction hash. Only use support links inside the exchange's own app or website.
