Does Kraken have a debit card?
Yes. The Kraken debit card is the Krak Card, launched in the UK and EU in late 2025 and in most US states in August 2026. Kraken has no credit card.
Yes, Kraken has a debit card. It is called the Krak Card and runs through Krak, a separate payments app built by Payward, the company behind the Kraken exchange. As of October 2026 it is available to eligible users in the UK, the European Economic Area and most US states.
What is the Krak Card?
The Krak Card is a debit card linked to a Krak account. When you pay, it draws on your balances, which can include regular money and crypto. You set the order in which balances are used and can exclude assets you want to keep. Any crypto spent is converted to dollars at the moment of purchase, according to Krak's US card page. Payward's November 2025 announcement gave a UK example in which a £100 purchase was covered by £80 in cash and £20 from a coin such as bitcoin.
This is the same basic model most crypto debit cards use, explained in how crypto cards work.
Is the Kraken debit card available in the US?
Yes, since August 18, 2026. Kraken's blog says the US Krak Card runs on Visa, is issued by Lead Bank under a Visa licence, and uses Stripe's card technology. Krak's card page says it is offered to eligible residents of most states but not New York, Maine, Massachusetts or Indiana. Virtual cards can be used right after approval and added to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, and a physical card follows.
Krak states that it is a technology company, not a bank, and that balances are not insured by the FDIC or SIPC.
In the UK and EEA, the card launched on Mastercard's network. Cointelegraph reported that Krak had issued over 135,000 cards there since the December 2025 launch.
What does the Krak Card cost and earn?
In the US, Krak lists no monthly, annual or account fees. It also says spreads may apply when spending assets, foreign exchange fees apply, and other ATM operators may charge their own fees. Cashback is up to 2%, paid in dollars or bitcoin, with the rate depending on your average balance across Krak, Kraken and Kraken Pro. A metal card with uncapped 2% cashback requires an average of $50,000 in combined assets.
The UK and EU launch was different. Payward's release described 1% cashback in local currency or bitcoin and no FX or monthly fees. How spending crypto is treated for tax depends on where you live, a point covered in the crypto cards guide linked above.
Does Kraken have a credit card?
No. Kraken's own pages describe the Krak Card as a debit card with no credit line or borrowing, and Krak promotes it as an alternative to credit-card rewards. Neither Kraken's blog nor Krak's card page mentions a Kraken credit card as of October 2026. More on the exchange itself is in what is Kraken and is Kraken safe.
