Binance vs Bybit is a comparison of two of the largest crypto exchanges that serve customers outside the United States. Both offer spot trading and futures from one account. The main differences are where each is regulated, how their fees are discounted and which countries they exclude.

Bybit vs Binance, what is the difference?

Binance's global platform, Binance.com, is now licensed through Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), and its licences page lists three ADGM entities regulated by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA). Gulf News reported in December 2025 that the FSRA had authorised three Binance entities covering an exchange, a clearing and custody house and a broker-dealer, with regulated operations set to start on January 5, 2026. The firm's US legal history is in Binance vs Binance.US.

Bybit was founded in 2018 and is based in Dubai. Its European arm, Bybit EU, received a MiCA licence from Austria's Financial Market Authority in May 2025 and serves the European Economic Area from Vienna. Cointelegraph noted that Bybit lost about $1.5 billion in a hack in February 2025.

How do Bybit vs Binance fees compare?

At the entry level, spot pricing is similar. Binance's fee page lists 0.100% maker and 0.100% taker for regular users. Its help center says paying fees with BNB gives a 25% discount, bringing both to 0.075%.

Bybit's fee page lists 0.1000% maker and taker for crypto-to-crypto spot pairs at its base level. It charges more on pairs bought with fiat, starting at 0.15% maker and 0.20% taker. Bybit says actual rates may vary by region.

Both exchanges lower fees for higher-volume VIP tiers. Withdrawal fees, card fees and spreads are separate. See what are maker and taker fees for how the two rates work.

Is Bybit available in the US?

No. As of its October 16, 2026 update, Bybit's help center lists the United States as an excluded jurisdiction, along with mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada and several sanctioned regions. The UK is not on that list.

Binance.com does not serve US customers either. People in the US who want the Binance brand use Binance.US, a separate company with its own coin list and rules. The reasons Binance is restricted elsewhere are covered in why is Binance banned in some countries.

How do Bybit vs Binance futures compare?

Both list perpetual and dated futures settled in stablecoins, plus coin-margined contracts. Binance's help center uses 0.02% maker and 0.05% taker in its regular-user examples for both USDⓈ-M and COIN-M futures, and offers a 10% discount on USDⓈ-M futures fees paid in BNB. Bybit lists 0.0200% maker and 0.0550% taker for USDT and USDC perpetuals and futures, and 0.0200% maker and 0.0300% taker for options.

Futures use leverage, which can wipe out a position quickly. Fee rates change often, so check each exchange's own fee page for the current figures as of October 2026.
