To cash out crypto on Robinhood, you sell the coins for US dollars inside the app and then withdraw the cash to a linked bank account. Robinhood does not send crypto straight to a bank, because a bank only holds dollars. The steps below reflect Robinhood's US support pages as of October 2026. How Robinhood crypto works in general is covered in how does crypto on Robinhood work.
How does a Robinhood crypto sell work?
Open the coin's detail page and select Sell. Robinhood offers several order types:
- Market. Robinhood turns it into a limit order with a buffer of up to 5% below the price shown, and may cancel it if it does not fill within 2 minutes.
- Limit. Sells only at your price or better, so it may never fill.
- Stop and stop limit. Trigger a sale once the price falls to a level you set.
Minimum orders are $0.01 with market maker routing and $0.03 with smart exchange routing. Tiny leftover balances, often called dust, can be too small to sell. Fees depend on the routing method, as the Robinhood guide above explains. The difference between order types is covered in limit order vs market order.
How do you withdraw crypto from Robinhood to a bank?
Once the sale is done, go to Account, then Menu, then Transfers, then Withdraw. Enter the amount, choose the destination and confirm. Robinhood says proceeds from crypto sales have no settlement delay, so the cash can be reused at once. Its crypto selling page says withdrawing to a bank follows the standard ACH period, which can take up to 5 business days.
The two payout options are:
- Standard ACH. No fee.
- Instant. 1.75% of the amount, with a $1 minimum and a $150 maximum fee. It usually arrives in about 10 minutes, but only some banks qualify, and the account must be linked through Plaid.
For 60 days after a deposit, Robinhood may ask for more information before sending money to a different bank account than the one it came from.
Can you transfer crypto out of Robinhood?
Yes. Instead of selling, you can send coins to an outside wallet or exchange from the coin's page by choosing Send. Robinhood requires identity verification first and adds no fee of its own beyond the network fee. Transfers are final once submitted. The step-by-step version is in how to move crypto to a cold wallet.
What limits apply to Robinhood crypto withdrawals?
Robinhood says crypto withdrawal limits depend on verification level, transaction history and payment methods, and can change daily. They cannot be raised on request. Crypto bought with instant funds from a bank deposit that has not cleared may not be withdrawable yet. Bank withdrawal limits also vary, and can be checked under Transfers.
Selling crypto can be taxable. See how crypto is taxed in the US.
