How do you buy XRP in the USA on Coinbase?

Coinbase stopped trading XRP shortly after the SEC sued Ripple in December 2020. It brought XRP back in July 2023, Fortune reported, after a federal judge ruled that sales of XRP on exchanges were not securities offerings.

To buy, you need a verified account and a verified payment method. In the app, tap Buy & sell, choose Buy, select XRP, enter an amount, then Review order and Buy now. How do you buy XRP on Robinhood?

Robinhood added XRP for US customers on November 13, 2024, alongside Solana, Pepe and Cardano. As of October 2026, its availability page lists XRP as tradable, with no New York restriction shown.

In the app, open the Crypto section, search for XRP, tap Buy and enter an amount. You can pick a market order or a recurring investment, then review and swipe up to submit. Robinhood notes that crypto held with it is not FDIC insured or SIPC protected. How its account and fees work is covered in how crypto on Robinhood works.

Can you buy XRP on Fidelity?

Not as a coin. Fidelity Crypto lists bitcoin, ether, Litecoin, Solana and Fidelity Digital Dollar, subject to state availability, and XRP is not on that list as of October 2026. Fidelity says it keeps evaluating other coins, but it names no future additions. A brokerage account can still be used for XRP ETF shares where the broker offers them, which is a different product from the coin.

Can you buy XRP stock or an XRP ETF?

There is no XRP stock, because XRP is a coin, not a company. What people often mean is an XRP ETF, a fund that holds XRP and trades on a stock exchange like a share.

The first US spot XRP ETF, the Canary XRP ETF with the ticker XRPC, was set to start trading on Nasdaq on November 13, 2025, Cointelegraph reported, and other issuers followed. ETF shares are bought through an ordinary brokerage account, so the buyer owns fund shares, not XRP itself. The full list and how the funds work are in what is an Ethereum, Solana or XRP ETF.

Crypto prices are volatile, and platform listings and fees change often.
