How do you buy Chainlink (LINK)?

To buy Chainlink you buy its LINK token on a platform such as Coinbase, PayPal or Robinhood, or buy shares of a US Chainlink ETF through a brokerage account.

To buy Chainlink, you buy LINK, the token that pays operators on the Chainlink oracle network. Most people do this through a crypto platform that lists LINK, or through an exchange-traded fund bought like a share. What the network does is explained in what Chainlink is.

How do you buy Chainlink crypto on an exchange or app?

Coinbase's guide for US buyers gives a typical sequence:

  1. Sign up and verify your account with a valid ID, and possibly proof of address.
  2. Link a bank account, debit card or wire transfer. Credit cards are not accepted for LINK.
  3. Open Buy & Sell, tap Buy and search for Chainlink.
  4. Enter an amount, starting from about $1.
  5. Select Review order, check the details and tap Buy now.

Coinbase says its fee depends on location, payment method, order size and market conditions, and shows it on the preview screen. US customers can also use PayPal as the payment method on Coinbase.

Other routes exist. PayPal's own crypto service lists Chainlink among the coins US customers can buy, sell, hold and transfer. Robinhood's availability page lists LINK as tradable, with no New York restriction shown. How PayPal's service works is covered in how crypto on PayPal works.

How do you buy Chainlink (LINK) in a self-custody wallet?

In a self-custody wallet that supports Ethereum tokens, you usually swap another asset for LINK through a built-in swap or a decentralized exchange. This route needs extra care. Chainlink's docs say LINK was first issued on Ethereum as an ERC-677 token, an extension of the ERC-20 standard, and that it can be moved to other blockchains through Chainlink's cross-chain system, CCIP. Each version has its own address on its own network.

Anyone can create a token called LINK, so search by address rather than by name, and take the address from the LINK token contracts page on docs.chain.link. Our guide to token contract addresses explains how to compare them.

How do you buy a Chainlink ETF?

A Chainlink ETF trades on a stock exchange, so you buy it through a brokerage account by its ticker, as with a share. The buyer owns fund shares, not LINK.

Two US funds exist as of October 2026. Grayscale's Chainlink Trust ETF, ticker GLNK, began trading on NYSE Arca on December 2, 2025, converted from an earlier private trust, according to The Block. Bitwise says its Chainlink ETF, ticker CLNK, offers spot exposure to LINK and began trading on January 14, 2026. Bitwise notes that the LINK behind each share shrinks over time as fees are paid. How these funds compare with holding coins is explained in Bitcoin ETF vs owning bitcoin.

Can you buy Chainlink stock?

No. LINK is a token, not a share in a company, so there is no Chainlink stock to buy in the usual sense. When people search for one, they usually mean either the token itself or a fund such as the ETFs above, which trade on stock exchanges like shares.

Crypto prices are volatile, and platform listings and fund details change often.
