A Cash App bitcoin withdrawal canceled "for your protection" means Cash App stopped the transfer before it was sent to the blockchain. Cash App's public help and legal pages, as of October 2026, do not spell out every reason this message appears. Its terms do give Block, the company behind Cash App, broad power to refuse or delay bitcoin transfers, including to prevent fraud. How bitcoin works inside the app is covered in how to buy bitcoin on Cash App, PayPal or Venmo.

What does a Cash App bitcoin withdrawal canceled for your protection mean?

Cash App's terms say Block may suspend, refuse, freeze, decline, delay, redirect or reverse a transaction request, including when it suspects fraud or illegal activity. They also say a bitcoin withdrawal cannot be reversed or refunded once it starts, and that users are responsible for checking the destination address.

Because a withdrawal cannot be pulled back once it starts, a cancellation stops it beforehand. Cash App's disclosures describe bitcoin as a common target for fraud, especially transfers to outside addresses.

The FTC says that only scammers demand payment in crypto, and that impersonators often claim to be protecting a victim's money while telling them to send it somewhere. If someone is pushing you to send bitcoin quickly, that is a warning sign worth stopping for. See common crypto scams.

What are Cash App bitcoin limits?

Cash App does not publish fixed withdrawal amounts on its public bitcoin page. Its terms say Block may limit the size, type or manner of transfers at its discretion. In a February 9, 2026 announcement, Cash App said bitcoin withdrawal limits were rising fivefold for eligible customers, without giving figures. Its disclosures also set a minimum size for on-chain withdrawals, so a very small withdrawal may not go through.

Cash App supports Lightning Network payments, which it describes as nearly instant, but its announcement says Lightning is not available to New York residents.

How do you find your Cash App bitcoin wallet address?

Cash App's bitcoin page says you can send to anyone using a bitcoin address or a Lightning invoice from the Bitcoin section of the Money tab. The general method of finding and sharing an address is in how to find your crypto wallet address.

Why was a Cash App bitcoin deposit not accepted?

Cash App's terms say a deposit must reach the required number of network confirmations before it appears, and that it is not complete while pending. Its disclosures warn that sending an unsupported asset to any Cash App address, or a stablecoin on an incompatible network, causes a permanent loss that Cash App cannot recover.

Cash App also says it is not responsible for deposits that are delayed or lost because of incorrect address details, so checking the address and network before sending matters. Normal confirmation times are covered in how long does a crypto transfer take.
